That the waterways and lakes in Fryslân were given official Frisian names was the immediate consequence if the fight of Postma for the Frisian language. Several municipal councils, the Frisian Parliament and other layers of government were regularly visited by Postma.
Postma was excited when the council of the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân decided in 2021 that it would officially reintroduce place names in Frisian or in the local language.
Postma will be missed, his presence and above all his acumen. Also at an high age. Always fighting for the Frisian cause.
