Frisian Parliament

The Frisian Parliament is the democratically elected Parliament of Fryslân. 43 Members of the Provincial Council represent 12 political parties. FNP currently has four seats; below you find more information about our Members of the Provincial Council. 

The citizens of Fryslân elect the Members of the Provincial Council. Elections take place once every four years. 

The Provincial Council has three main tasks:

• representing the citizens of Fryslân
• determining the policy framework for the administration (Provincial Executive)
• scrutinising the work of the Provincial Executive 

The Members of the Provincial Council have another important task: they elect the Members of the Dutch Senate in The Hague.
